Smart Innovations and Digital Hub Africa (SIDH-Africa), in collaboration with the Optical Society of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (OSU), recently hosted an enlightening webinar. The primary objective was to guide aspiring scholars from Ghana to successfully secure scholarships for their desired programs at overseas universities. The event, held on September 30, 2023, drew in approximately 60 ambitious individuals keen on pursuing undergraduate, master's, or doctoral degrees abroad.

One of the event's prominent speakers, Dr. George Dwapanyin, a distinguished Research Fellow at the University of St. Andrews, UK, delivered a comprehensive presentation. Dr. Dwapanyin shed light on crucial areas that prospective applicants need to focus on during their scholarship application processes. He elaborated on the indispensable documents required for admission applications and elucidated the prerequisites for financial assistance, encompassing financial aid, TAship, and various other forms of relevant support.

In his address, Dr. Owusu Nyarko-Boateng, the esteemed Patron of the Optical Society of UENR (OSU), outlined the vision and mission of SIDH-Africa and OSU. He underscored SIDH-Africa's commitment as a non-governmental organization to harness technology for social change. Dr. Nyarko-Boateng emphasized that technology serves as a potent catalyst for positive transformation, and the organization passionately strives to make it accessible to all. Consequently, SIDH-Africa has taken the lead in training business owners, students, and entrepreneurs to enhance their digital skills, aiming to provide solutions aligned with evolving industrial needs.

Dr. Dwapanyin urged all participants to proactively strive for excellence by meticulously preparing the necessary documentation crucial for securing admissions and scholarships to study abroad.
