Family & Parenting Fake Utme Result: Internet Safety Advocate, Onadipe Advises Parents To Inculcate Moral Values In Their Children From Early Age
JUL 10, 2023 LISTEN

Parents have been advised to inculcate moral values in their children from early age so as to help them to make the right decision in their career and future endeavours.

The publisher of internet safety magazine, Rotimi Onadipe, gave the advice on Saturday during his weekly broadcast on cyber safety, which aims to protect internet users from the negative effects of smartphone and internet.

Recall that the embattled candidate of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Mmesoma Ejikeme, recently confessed that she manipulated her 2023 UTME result when she appeared before the panel that was set up by the Anambra State Government to investigate her forgery allegation.

Onadipe, a prominent cyber security evangelist and youth advocate, noted that in today's digital age, many youths and children have easy access to social media and they can easily be influenced by the negative impact of the internet e.g. misinformation or disinformation on social media, impersonation, forgery of documents, online pornography, cyber-sex, cyber bullying, among others.

He said, "With the rapid growth of computer crimes and other unethical practices associated with the internet in today's technology age, the best gift that parents can give their children is to teach them about moral values and inculcate the fear of God in them.

"Ejikeme's case is a wake-up call for parents to begin to teach their children the way of God from their early age," Onadipe added.
