The Kenkey Festival, Ghana's leading cultural food festival, is joining forces with One Heart Cares International, a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to improving the lives of renal patients in Ghana.

This partnership aims to raise awareness and funds for the fight against kidney disease, a silent killer that affects millions of people worldwide.

A Festival with a cause
The Kenkey Festival is an annual event that celebrates Ghana's diverse and delicious cuisine, with a focus on kenkey, a fermented corn-based staple dish. The festival attracts thousands of food lovers, who enjoy a variety of kenkey dishes, live music, cultural exhibitions, and fun activities.

This year, the festival is adding a humanitarian dimension to its festivities. In a significant move, a portion of the gate proceeds from Kenkey Fest 24 will be directed towards the One Heart 4 Dialysis campaign, an initiative that provides crucial financial support for over 1,195 renal patients in Ghana who are undergoing dialysis treatment.

A Lifeline for Renal Patients
One Heart Cares International is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 2011 by Eugene Kwasi Ossei, an entrepreneur and philanthropist. The organization's mission is to empower and uplift the people of Ghana by bridging gaps in healthcare accessibility, improving literacy rates, and alleviating poverty. It aims to create a more equitable and prosperous society where every individual can lead a healthy, educated, and fulfilling life.

One Heart Cares International runs One Heart 4 Dialysis campaign, a fundraiser aimed at raising GHS100million to support renal patients in Ghana to cover 100% of their medical expenses.

Eugene Kwasi Ossei expressed his gratitude to the Kenkey Festival for choosing to partner with One Heart Cares International. He said that the collaboration will help to raise more funds and awareness for the cause of renal patients. He also urged the public to support the campaign by attending the festival, donating, or volunteering.

Save the Date
Kenkey Fest 24 will take place on March 9, 2024, starting at 09:00 AM at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra with a gate fee of 10 Ghana Cedis. The festival promises to be a fun-filled and flavorful event, with a noble cause at its heart.
