Kwaku Frimpong Adjei Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that the National President of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwaku Frimpong Adjei, was on January 1 2009 attacked by irate National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters at Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo region.

The TESCON president, who confirmed the story, noted that he had gone to the Premier Palace Hotel in Techiman to have dinner when he met some NDC supporters at the hotel premises and suspected some bigwigs of the party were also lodging there.

He said realising how charged the atmosphere was with NDC supporters, he decided to have the food parceled for him to take away.

Frimpong Adjei narrated that moments after being served, he returned to his Fiat Uno saloon car with registration number AS 53557 T which was parked between some four-wheel vehicles.

On approaching his car, he realised that the rear windscreen had been vandalised by the NDC supporters.

He intimated that the supporters followed him amid hooting and casting of insinuations to the Techiman Police Station where he lodged a formal complaint with the police.

He said he had on that day returned from Nsawkaw, the capital of the Tain district to survey the terrain in preparation towards the run-off in the Tain constituency scheduled for January 2, 2009.

He observed that his car which had posters of the NPP flag-bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo pasted on the bonnet might have attracted the NDC supporters.

He called on the youth not to see themselves as enemies because they belong to different political parties, and appealed to the police to investigate the incident and punish the culprits accordingly so as to deter others from engaging in such offensive behaviours
