when and whom did Rawlings risked his life.He was just a murderer and a liar period. And for your information, these people went into exil because of your con man called Rawlings. If you are ignorant,Nana Addo was bold enough to confront Rawlings about the secret killings of some of our best Judges which led Nana to seek refuge in UK.

Please remember that Rawlings handed over power because he was compelled to do so by the International bodies, Ghanaians and the constitution so he had no option. In any event he stole power from constitutionally elected government. He created the problem in the first place so he did nothing out of ordinary
CK | 12/15/2008 5:30:33 PM | UK-JJ had a lot of options (Location: European Union)
U mean JJ had no option, no no no, he had all the options but he rather respected the will and wish of the people of Ghana.
Do u think the west has any authority over any country in this world, look at what Mugabe is doing to them, they cannot do anything than to impose sanctions which has no effect on Mugabe but rather the ordinary people.
Whether u like it or not, JJ did the most honourable thing for our country and some of us will praise him if u do not.
Posterity will judge JJ. God Bless.

Nana, i doubt you have any knowledge of ghana history, if u do may i remind you that Rawlings was NOT the first person in the history of ghana to overtrow an elected gorverment but rather the last to do so, NPP and it's gurus started all the mess when they overthrew an elected DR Nkurumah, followed by the rest ...Hipocrites..your so called nana ado late father was among the enemies of ghana's progress...Just remember that.. you f**ls. You kept singing of Rawlings being a murderer, how about the very current killings which are still fresh in our mind, to mentioned but a few, Issa Mobila of CPP and co. Your cup is full, the masses had enough and are crying for change and change we must have ....they have started their rigging process on tuesday special votes..you cry democracy every day tell me if rigging election, denying the citizens their choice of president is a democracy... You are all guilty and you know it.

Check stats before u start accusing pple. So far, I know that its the Ashanti's who are Tribalist not the

Nana Yaw Boakye | 12/27/2008 12:20:31 AM | Toronto-Canada (Location: Canada)
I would have have no qualms about you becomes the next president had the NDC proven to be a respecter of human rights. Rawlings has the party and Atta Mills at his fingertips and we all know that Rawlings' hands are tainted with the blood of thousands of Ghanaians. If Atta Mills were strong and could divest himself of Rawlings, I would vote for him. A a vote for Atta Mills is a vote for Rawlings and will take us back into the era of abductions and political intolerance. We need freedom. Vote for Akuffo-Addo who I encourage to divest himself of the ridiculous too many names
Kofi Brew | 12/28/2008 6:15:39 AM | Silver Spring, MD-USA (Location: United States)
I hope and believe that Ghanaians would depart from tribal and regional considerations to give change and democracy a chance. The whole world is watching us after the big disappointment we all witnessed in Togo, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. Prof. Atta Mills should win in my opinion because he ran a true campaign of issues that matter to our daly living. The corruption and cronism John Kuoffor'r regime if prolonged through Nana can be a setback for our progress. Let's keep our role of beacon of democracy in our continent. Go NDC!

As young as i could remember i have seen JJ Rawlings six times personal in my life,He is not what people describe him as he is,if anything we Ghanaians created this him to what we want him to be,we should stop putting fear for in people that Rawlings would rule Ghana if NDC wins,What if he rules, to my consent he's best person who put some sense to some politicians who go above the laws of our mother land.Go NDC Go JJ

They must endure and bear it because they have another 12 years in opposition to square up thier rule from P to NDC rule.

Ghanaians are not forgetful Mr. Kay Kay. That is why they are going to vote for the Prof.
They remember when they have to travel to the general post office before talking with relatives abroad. Internet was something they thought it's going to be in heaven when they meet Christ but, it's there today with them. Color TV was unheard of. Bolga people read dead news. Ghana lost good musicians as a result of copyright. Today musicians and comedians like Agya Koo are being honored nationally because of NDC's good foundation given to them through the putting up of a national theater where concert parties took turns to display their talents and get well paid, International Conference center where foreign dignitaries assembles to hold conferences and seminars and not a presidential palace which will accommodate only two families out of millions.

GHANAIANS ARE NOT FORGETFUL KAY KAY. Wait and see.

Yes, there was a swallow alright, but common sense should tell you that Jonas can never swallow the whale which was too big for his mouth and stomach to accommodate.
Expect change in the way we do things. The westerns always look for room to improve the lives of it's citizenry but Africa look for room to suppress opponent by telling lies about him or her.

Please fellow Ghanaians, this is another era of the NPP, just take a look at how the Gov't has turned things round within eight years in power. It's the Lord's doing that we as a people of a Nation like Ghana have come this far. He chose a president who could calm the nerves of the people, yes, that president was John Agyekum Kuffuor. The man who did not intimidate our parents, gone were the days when our beloved mothers were being whipped in the streets. Brethren, I am not saying this for politics sake but for those who were so lucky not to have lived in the era of the PNDC/NDC. I am only 27 seven years of age but saw what I am writing about with my naked eyes, it was very terrible, and think about it, those women could have been your mother, Aunty, sister or what ever. well there was no JUSTICE and the harm has already been caused, but here we are enjoying peace and you tell me to vote back NDC? forget it. You should know that you are not voting for Atta Mills if you do so but the man behind who calls for the expansion of the Nsawam prison, expansion for what? have you asked your selves? to drag you and me to prison. How on earth could a former President who's views should be respected talk this way, is aborminable. Fellow citizens, it seems we forget too soon but lets do the right thing by voting NANA AKUFO-ADDO as president and there is no way we shall regret it.
Long live the citizens of GHANA,

what has kufour done for ghana? how many children are on the street now risking thier life to survive and not going to school, do you know how painfull it is? when i was in ghana back in 1995, children where not that much on the street, instead of helping this children, he is using the money to build a new presidential house, what will happen to the old castle? i went to ghana for vacation for the first time sinds i came to europe 1995, and sometimes when i see this people on the street especially the children, i just cry hiding my face. Arm robbing is in kuffour's years too much and what is he doing about this and police and Togo border immigration workers taking bribes before they will let you cross, do you how much this immigration workers earn plus their payment? don't tell kuffour doesn't know it, traders will go and work all day and sometimes they even don't earn that much but this immigration workers will take bribe before letting them cross the border, 1,2 en 3 GHC will not even be enough for to cross. My fellow Ghanaians some of you don't know nothing because you only go to Ghana to enjoy selfs without thinking about the others, open your eyes very well when you visit your motherland. If God only think about himself and not you, will you be happy? and do you know how it feels to see others surffer, am not talking about the lazy ones but about those who is looking for opportunity to do something for them selfs. Even Kotoka airport immigration workers takes bribe. Am a very proud Ghanaian but am ashamed of the president.

Sicil, dont behave as if you are an angel. You mean you are ashamed of Kuffour ? Can you tell the whole world how you managed to settle in Belguim ? Have you forgotten the lie you told the govt of Belguim before getting a stay permit ? Aren´t you ashamed for disgracing your country for a stay permit? Leave Kuffour alone and bow down your head in shame.
sicil | 12/12/2008 11:30:51 AM | gent-belgium (Location: Belgium)
To Frank.first of all, i was 14 years of age before my mother who has been in belguim for a long time brought me and my 12 years old sis here, so you better watch what you are saying, it is not everybody who lie to get a staying permit, or did you lie to get a permit?

thank you for this appealing message.there is nothing rawlings can or will do,if he had something to do,he would have certainly behave like the way Mugabe,Biya etc are behaving.please let give that man some respect.all the freedom we are enjoying as a country can be traced to his peaceful handing-over.ghanaians are calling for change so let it be so.talk about important issues,if issues like this will help, npp would have won the election one touch.so please be a bit careful.god bless our motherland ghana.many countries once undergone through this military regime and those times are past.prof.attah mills is a man of his own and ghanaians want him now.
Adom | 12/13/2008 12:56:30 PM | Montreal-Canada (Location: United States)
Frank, it's true that people lie before they are given permit to stay in most of these countries but, tell us. Does it make right to lie about Rawlings and everything about him? A lie is a lie. This is hurting the NPP so much. The NPP has been lying all these years and people have come to realized it. You have been lying that Rawlings, will take over power if Prof. Atta Mills, is voted to power. This sounds ridiculous and childish to Ghanaians today. Sorry Frank, find something else to convince us.

The second-round is going to be a straight fight between the two giants (NPP & NDC)
The winner is the better of the two and he is Nana Akufo-Addo(NPP).

The greatest man of Wisdom that has ever lived on planet earth was Jesus Christ, the resurrected Son of the living God.This Great man is/was the image of the invissible God, the firstborn of all creation (Colosians 1:15).
I call the attention of all Ghanaians to the Spirit of WISDOM JESUS SPOKE through Solomon in Proverbs 29:2.....when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
When Cain killed Abel his brother in Genesis chapter 4, please and I declare boldly to all Ghanaians to hear and understand with wisdom of God, what God said: Gen.4:10.....And He said, what have you done ? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground....There is live in the blood....
Innocent blood was shared during the NDC's Terms of office. We did not hear any public repentence from the mouths of the NDC'S Rule.
I believe the blood of those innocent people are still crying to God from the ground.
Ghanaians should not make any mistake in voting them to power.
Ghanaians by God's grace have gained both internal and external reputation during the Reign of PRESIDENT KUFFOUR and (NPP). We, who are abroad feel secured and honoured as Ghanaians, because of the peace in Ghana. Germans even as a proof of this statement don't accept Ghana as a problem country for Asyl. Many have entered into ministries, the Word of God is spreading like fire in the hearts of the people in Ghana. PLEASE ALL GHANAIANS SHOULD CONSIDER THE WISDOM OF GOD AND VOTE WISELY FOR THE PRESENT GOV'T. to continue.(NANA AKUFFO ADDO -NPP)......
......BECAUSE THE KING WHO JUDGES THE POOR WITH TRUTH, HIS THRONE WILL BE ESTABLISHED FOREVER (Proverbs 29:14.)
JESUS' Name be Praised forever in Ghana.
The Peace of God rest upon all Ghanaians and their inhabitance. God bless the home land Ghana in JEsus Name..AMEN !!!.

NDC has nothing to offer the country than to enrich themselves again with the oil money. Ghanaians should not act like a family who hate the person who use his money to develop the family house and improve the lifestyle of the family than to love the one who will use his money to buy drinks and gives his favourates 1.00 or 5.00 cedis once a while. We should think twice and vote well. Your is your future!

SURELY, I BELIEVE THAT, MOST GHANAIANS IF NOT ALL, WILL AGREE THAT PROF. MILLS IS A MORE HONEST PERSON TO LEAD GHANA. BUT, THE MOST FEARFUL SITUATION THAT MOST GHANAIANS CAN'T SHAKE OFF IS THE "RAWLINGS-KONADU AGYEMAN" FACTOR. PROF. IS CLEAN AND HONEST THROUGH AND THROUGH. RAWLINGS AND HIS WIFE, APART FROM ALL THINGS HAVE GOT REAL BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS AND IN THEIR HEADS. HOW COULD ANY PEACE LOVING GHANAIAN CONTEMPLATE VOTING FOR HONEST PROF., KNOWING THAT J.J AND HIS WIFE WILL BULLY HIM OVER. SO LONG AS RAWLINGS IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE IN GHANAIAN POLITICS, ANY PRSIDENTIAL CANDIDATE WHO WINS ON AN NDC TICKET WILL BE WINNING FOR RAWLINGS AND HIS BLOOD THIRSTY BULLIES. IT IS SAD THAT PROF. This reminds me of what some selffish leaders did to Nkrumah and now we all say where is Nkrumah?

Just image the free education some kids who have been dropped out of school just started schooling six months ago because of this free education.

Think of the community nursing gainfully employing the youth who wouldnt have had the chance to get to the nursing training college.

Not to talk of the community police and Zoom lion where most of our mothers who are selling are finding themselve in. After their duty the go to do their various work so they are rest assured of gaining something at the end of the month.

It is not the matter of changing when someone lays a foundation we should allow the party to build firmly and giving him that time if we realise things aint getting better then we can change the party.

Nana is going to build on what Kuffo has already layed by making sure the free education issues are solve by really giving free education not only for fees but also educational materials.

Thank you for reading

Atta Mills is a man of truth. NPP has disappointed all Ghanaians. Even NPP members do not trust AKUFo Ado, how can Ghanaians as whole entrust this our beloved country into Akuffo Ado's hands? Tofiakwa!
It's time for NPP to go. Noting shows to think about Ghanaians. Kuffour was celebriting birth day party when Ghana was busy voting.

A FANTE CAN NEVER BE PRESIDENT?

My brother, dont mind them.Am an Ewe but born and brought up in Kumasi.I visited kumasi a couple of times and many Asante's were saying that A FANTE CAN NEVER BE PRESIDENT and this made me very angry cos they claim history shows that fante's are only vice presidents and the most annoying talk was that fantes were comedians.I asked them if Agya Koo was a fante?.This utterances made me talk to more fantes in cape coast etc to make their own man President because NPP is only about Akyems and Asantes.PLEASE VOTE TO MAKE HISTORY,MAKE A FANTE PRESIDENT to shame your detractors.Western Region must reason up cos NPP is trying to urge more Asantes to vote so that they 'f**l' the fante again
So check this List
Nkrumah was an NZEMA
Busia was a BONO
Akuffo was AKYEM
Limman was NORTHENER
Rawlings is an EWE
Kuffour is ASANTE
Mills ??????FANTE
Please lets make history for Mother Ghana

Ghana has proved that she is a growing democratic country. The evidence is explicitly seen in the 7th December presidential and parliamentary elections.

It is a blatant and indisputable fact that the NDC and the Rawlings regime did a great harm to the people of Ghana, expecially when people were butchered by Rawlings. However, since the power to elect is in the hands of the people, we must allow the people of Ghana to speak for themselves and choose their own leader.

I believe that there are levels of corruption and no one can refute the fact that the NPP government has been flawed in their politics. I am an NPP person however, I feel that that we need to reject what I call "politank poliics," where selfishness and 'one party all the time' seems to be the mindset of some politicians.

Let us allow the flow of democratic governance. As a pastor and preacher, I urge Christians not to pray for Akufo Addo or Mills, but to allow the choice of God to prevail.
God bless all.

Hello and how are you all doing good people of Ghana?
First and foremost please permit me to express my sincere thanx for having given me a space in your page to express my opinion to the good people of Ghana.
I will like to have a bit of say about our Health Insurance System in Ghana, it is a good that we have such policy but the implementation and policy is a little bit ackward and not FREE AS USING TO SELL THE ELECTION.
I will want to explain it; Here in UK, if you are not working you will be offered a FREE MEDICATION, meaning you will be entitled to free GP ATTENDANCE AND MEDICATION. But if you are working class like me then you need to have your own Health Insurance.
Talking about the policy in Ghana it is not of any difference so please NPP STOP MISLEADING GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA.
Also the CAPITATION GRAND (FREE SCHOOL FEES) is also not in any way from our present government rather it is a DANISH FOUNDATION. It also came into been as a result of the good policy set down by His Excellency FLT. LT Rwalings which was followed by His Excellency John Agyekum Kuffour.
So please again NPP Stop laiming CREDIT FOR IT.

NPP started on a good note. They had all the necessary conditions to make the life of the average Ghanaian a happy one- including public support, and time to carryout their ideas. But they messed up big time. They let the people down. They took them for granted without really listening to the people. The government actors in the NPP had the guts to justify their mistakes in relation to the past very wrong things to which the people wanted sorted out totally. Not only that, they also insalted people on top

Well the people have spoken significantly though not finally. I don't think they are being unreasonable. I think they need positive change in their real lives when they vote, not just a change in Government. So who ever is ellected should be really carefull to work for the people.

I think Prof. Mills stands a best chance of winning. He has really assessed events in past and the present too - he's been to the drawing board to recalculate how best he could effectively bring the desired effect to the people. And believe me he will winn. I am not the only one who sees a champion in him. You know it yourself. It is a burning light in your heart which you are denying. But for how long will you continue to deny the truth.

I urge you all out there -good people of Ghana- to go to the polls come 28th December and vote Prof John Atta-Mills as the next presient. He is the only right candidate to take us to the promise land. Be sure not to be decieved. Atta Mills all the way. Thank you

IT IS IMPORTANT TO VOTE FOR THE NPP AS THE PLAN WILL BE THE SAME FOR CONTINUING WHAT HAS BEEN STARTED SAVING THE COUNTRY MONEY, AND ATTRACTING MORE INVESTMENTS INTOT HE ECONOMY WHICH WILL THEN CREATE JOBS FOR THE MASSES.

GHANAIANS, DON'T JUST VOTE FOR THE WORD CHANGE" BECAUSE OBAMA USED THAT TO WIN THE ELECTIONS IN THE US. THE CHNAGE MUST BE THAT OF THE LEADER OF THE SAME PARTY WITH THE SAME PLAN.

if npp have any sense, instead of side tracking other who have different political allegiance, they will bring them in to increase their votes.. but instead these greedy id**t marginalise them. instead of broaden the circle winners they limit it, due to greed. their greed is exposing them big time,,,they are to suffer a humiliating defeat at polls, in unlikely event Nana wins he shoulds subdue his personality and bring more people in to help him win easily next time...fromall sides. he has no choice due to the composition of parliament eitherwise he will be a lame duck president. infact he will be like a king with his own army...a true king needs his own army not borrowed army.. to kick off his plans

We are all awear, when Rawlings handed power over to Dr. Hillah Liman and come back and overthrew the democratic elected government and ruled for almost twenty years. This man saw how people were complaining so he decided to play some trick and drew back into his coil like the tortise and haneded over to Mr. Koffur, knowing he could come back because he once said there is no man in the country, but he realized that there are gallant men in the country when he tried many ways but there was no way for him, he started rough play by telling lies about the President. Now Rawlings is desparat to come back to power so he is trying to turn peoples mind from his powersweet that we should vote for Prof who they says Prof is asomdwiehene who can never say anything to challeng, fellow Ghanains bewear of Rawlings tricks and vote Nana Addo for better Ghana.Prof, you should have joined any other party rather the NDC,if you are truly ASOMDWIEHENE AMPA!! First of all I think the people who are talking about change need to look up the word CHANGE. How can you people talk about change by voting someone who was in office for about 20years!! I'm going to need people to educate themselves about what change really means. To me personally, I feel that Ghanaians don't know what they really want. If you people really want change you would have voted for the other parties not NPP or NDC but since you didn't do so, you can not talk about change. I'm am soooooooooooooo sick and tired of hearing about change this, change that. And another thing, you people are not the only once struggling in the world. The world is a mess right now and what we all need to do is to pray for a peaceful world. Stop listening to this politicians because whether NPP or NDC, they are all humans and they will fail you in the end. Only God will never fail. Ghana is a very peaceful country and I pray that it remain that way. Peace is the most important thing in the world because without peace there is no life. So people please vote wisely and vote for peace.

Y are most of you guys being soo ignorant, Is it Rawlings standing for the elections or Atta Mills come on guys lets all think very carefully before opening our wide mouth to say what is not right. I understand Rawlings formed the NDC party and has done many mistakes and so is the current President which I think is worse. whatever the case is Rawlings has done some for Ghana, he was in power for 20yrs and ghana never went to HIPC. Y don't you all ignorant people out there think of the good he did and be gratefull that Ghana is still a Peacefull and happy country and that we need to Thank the almighty God for another year gone by without any war. People please think of the positive as well as the negative before making judgements. Be Gratefull. Afterall you all do not know what happened in his cabinet when he was in office.

NPP failed the nation during the last moment of their Adminstation. They were rushing on wealth. President Kuffour also was later arrogant which did not help Nana.
Former Information Minister's housing case annoyed many Ghanaian voters. This election does not have anything to do with Race. It's how people feel.

I am shocked that Ghanaians have such short memory and can be very ungrateful. Ghanaians have already forgotten the mess that the NDC took 19 years to create. How did the NDC came into power? All I remember is by the barrel of the gun under the pretext of "Grassroots participation " only to throw dust into the eyes of the 70% of the Ghanaian ignorant people. With just 8 years under the rule of the Gentle Giant, Ghana has won the respect of the developed world and has attracted foreign investors into the country. Why do you want to go back to the days of Ghana's downfall by inviting the crazy wolf in sheep's clothing to come with intimidation? The blood of our slaughtered brothers is crying in the widerness. Don't invite curses into a country which God wants to bless, please my fellow brothers and sisters. Respect is won and we did under the Gentle Giant.

The NPP party are proving all their effort to reject but they cannot use any way to do that.Atta Mills and the NDC team are the only party who can take control of the beloved country GHANA.So my only and possible advise to the Akufo Addo's party is that, they should and must accept defeat so that GHANA THE ONLY PEACEFUL COUNTRY wiil leave happily.
