The Ghana Police Service has invited Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko and two others for questioning as part of investigation into the alleged electoral offence during the by-election at Ejisu in the Ashanti region.

The Member of Parliament, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko was captured in a video removing an envelope believed to contain money from his pocket and leaving it on a table for electoral officers.

Today, the Ghana Police Service has indicated that it has invited Dr. Kingsley Nyarko to assist with investigations.

“The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into the alleged electoral offence involving some temporary officers of the Electoral Commission and a Member of Parliament during the by-election at Ejisu in the Ashanti region.

“The persons involved, George Sasu, Regina Serwaa and Dr. Kingsley Nyarko have subsequently been invited by the Police to assist the investigation and their statements duly taken,” parts of a statement from the Police said.

Meanwhile, the Police have noted that it is working together with the Electoral Commission as the investigation continues.
