Dumsor is well with us; Akufo-Addo peddled falsehood when he said it's over – Kwakye Ofosu

Spokesperson of former President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has called out President Akufo-Addo for claiming the persistent, irregular, and unpredictable power outages, otherwise known as ‘dumsor’ is over.

President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, May 1, disclosed that all issues with the faulty transformers causing power outages in the country have been addressed.

“Issues surrounding the maintenance of the transformers have been resolved, Indeed we have witnessed stable power supply across the country with no load shedding reported anywhere yesterday…I am confident that the unfortunate era of dumsor will not return,” President Akufo-Addo said during an address at the Workers’ Day celebration.

However, several places experienced unannounced power outages on Thursday and even today Friday took to social media to express their frustration.

In a post on X after experiencing dumsor, Felix Kwakye Ofosu said he was not surprised.

He said he knew all along that President Akufo-Addo was telling lies when he said dumsor was over.

“We all knew President Akufo-Addo was peddling falsehood when he claimed Dumsor was over. Dumsor is very much with us and many people in Ghana today have suffered power cuts,” Felix Kwakye Ofosu said in his post.
