Renowned Ghanaian YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon says he regrets openly campaigning for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the past as the governing party has "disappointed him to the core" by failing to live up to their promises.

Sheldon, whose real name is Bernard Kwadwo Amoafo, is well known for his candid socio-political commentary and reviews on YouTube channel Kwadwo Sheldon Studios.

In a recent interview on The Mile 7 Podcast, when asked if engaging in politics had benefited him personally, Sheldon stated that it definitely had not.

"I wouldn't have been sitting here if I benefited from it. These are some of the things we've done in the past and have regretted. Like you openly declare your support for a party because you believed in their policies and when they come into power they disappoint to the core," said Sheldon.

He lamented that the NPP had failed to fulfil many of the promises they made to Ghanaians during their election campaign in 2020, in which he had openly backed their "4 More 4 Nana" agenda.

This left him deeply disgruntled with how things had panned out since they assumed power.

Sheldon further noted the frustration of being unable to criticize the ruling party without facing backlash.

“And when you try to criticize them for their failure, people tell you to shut up because you contributed to this mess," he remarked.
