In a vibrant display of Ghanaian culture, the 2024 edition of Feast Ghana brought together legendary musicians and thousands of public service workers for a day filled with music, food, and celebration.
Headlined by iconic artists such as SAMINI, Great Ampong, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, and Naa Amanua of Wulomei, the event showcased the best of Ghana's rich cultural heritage.
Organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Public Service Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (PSWU of TUC), the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and the Queen Mothers Foundation, Feast Ghana welcomed over three thousand workers from various public service institutions.
Held at the Forecourt of the Accra International Conference Centre on May 1st, 2024, the event aimed to provide participants with an immersive experience of Ghanaian cuisine, music, and dance.
Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting Ghana's culture through food, music, and dance.
He emphasized the importance of events like Feast Ghana in advancing domestic tourism and showcasing the country's culinary diversity.
"Feast Ghana represents a unique opportunity to showcase the vibrant culinary richness of our nation and celebrate the unity and diversity that food embodies in our culture," said Dr. Akwasi Agyeman during a media briefing at the event. He reiterated the Ghana Tourism Authority's commitment to promoting the country's tourism and cultural offerings through initiatives like the "See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, and Feel Ghana" campaign.
Speaking to the media, Deputy General Secretary of the Public Service Workers Union (PSWU) of TUC, John Nii Donu Sampah, urged Ghanaians to embrace and promote local foods, emphasizing the importance of supporting Ghana's culinary heritage.
As the rhythms of Ghanaian music filled the air and the aroma of traditional dishes wafted through the venue, Feast Ghana 2024 proved to be a memorable celebration of Ghana's cultural identity and unity.
